An Eco-Responsible hotel

Every little bit counts when it comes to preserving our planet which is why the Hidden Hotel is very committed to sustainability and has therefore decided to partner with Green Globe. Green Globe is the first global environmental certification program designed specifically for the travel and tourism industry. As a certified member of Green Globe, the Hidden Hotel is checked annually by an independent external auditor.

We think about the most sustainable solution in all the decisions we make, whether it’s the hotel’s interior design, purchasing or waste management and have therefore implemented the following measures.

Stop single-use plastic and the waste of raw materials !

Water fountains are available to minimize glass bottles and avoid plastic ones.
We work with products in bulk or in large packaging in order to limit unnecessary packaging
We offer our guests the possibility of sending invoices electronically.
The mobile application LoungeUp allows us to evolve in a paperless approach. In one click, consult the menu, the bar menu, our services and discover our secret addresses.

Leave water to the plants !

Our team members are made aware of the economical management of water.
Our faucets and hand showers are equipped with water savers.
We regularly check our water consumption.
Our laundry service is outsourced to save water and energy.

Let’s save energy together !

We changed our lighting to LED and use low consumption light bulbs instead of traditional ones. And in the evening, in our common areas, the candles give way to a subdued atmosphere.
We have set up movement sensors in the corridors to limit energy waste.
We regularly monitor our electricity consumption.
For our long stays, we change bed sheets every 3 days. If you wish to keep the same sheets throughout your stay, we will offer you 2 cocktails to thank you for your gesture for the planet.
The minibars in the rooms are deliberately omitted, for the sake of energy but also to encourage meetings in the Hidden bar.

The art of recycling

Our napkins and toilet paper are made from recycled and eco-labeled material.
We collect leftover soap, coffee grounds & wine corks to give them a second life.
We extend the life of furniture by using second-hand furniture like the wooden bookcase in our lobby.
We sort our waste for recycling (packaging, glass, organic & residual waste).

We lend wooden bicycles and offer an electric scooter rental service for your trips in Paris. A good way to avoid traffic jams and the emission of exhaust gases !
We love to share good addresses with you, accessible on foot from the hotel.
Our bath & cleaning products are eco-certified or eco-labeled.
Our rooms have natural ‘COCO-MAT’ bedding.
We choose our suppliers based on their sustainable commitment.
A large part of our raw materials as well as bread and pastries are organic certified.
We favor seasonal products grown in France.
Our bar menu offers wines from organic and biodynamic agriculture as well as organic drinks.
We work with products purchased in short circuits, delivered by foot or picked up by ourselves.

Stop food waste!

All uneaten bread and pastries are used to make pudding, croutons and French toast for the next day. We also work with the app ‘Too good to go’ to minimize food waste.

Many small, simple gestures, if applied by as many people as possible, will contribute to changing our planet in the right direction.

As part of our mission to do “More for a sustainable future” in partnership with Reforest Action, our guests can take part in the planting of trees to neutralize CO2 emissions. All they have to do is add the option “Plant trees…” when booking their stay to make a donation of €1 per room and per day.

Each of our guests thus contributes to the preservation of our planet!
